Life is Not Fair! (25OA-17)
Tuesday Feb 06, 2018
Tuesday Feb 06, 2018
Life is not fair! You can either die unhappy or get over it. God does not operate in our view of fairness.
We think too small. We are like children when we approach God with our view of the world and a distorted view of fairness. God’s ways are not unfair, our ways are unfair. God is more then fair, he allows mercy to triumph over justice which give us an opportunity to be saved. Thank God that he is not perfectly fair according to our view or we would be condemned to hell, but instead have his fairness of mercy of God seeks us out to save us.

How is “Admonish the Sinner” a Work of Mercy? (23OA-17)
Tuesday Feb 06, 2018
Tuesday Feb 06, 2018
We are called to love. Love is to desire the good of another for the other’s sake. Correcting a bad behavior is love of a parent or friend. But do we forget to do this in faith?
We know the corporal works of mercy, but do we know the spiritual works of mercy? One of the spiritual works of mercy is Admonish the Sinner. Jesus tells us how to do that today. Also to remember James 5:19-20 "My brethren, if any one among you wanders from the truth and some one brings him back, let him know that whoever brings back a sinner from the error of his way will save his soul from death and will cover a multitude of sins."

Do we also trying to correct Jesus on what he should do or teach? Jesus does not teach us to follow the wide and easy road, but the narrow and difficult road of the cross.

Be Perfect in Love (7OA-17)
Tuesday Feb 06, 2018
Tuesday Feb 06, 2018
It is pretty simple, just don’t mess it up and be Perfect.
The perfection that the Gospel calls us to today is a hard goal to achieve. But we don’t judge it by the worlds goal of perfection, but God’s goal of perfection which is accomplishing what we are ordered to in our end. We are ordered in our end of perfection in Love with God in Heaven. The story of St. Maria Goretti and Alessandro teach us this path to perfection. We will be saved by our faith, but we will be judged on our love.
